Biblical Prayer: To Refine the Body of Christ

Over time I’ve acquired a list of biblical prayers mostly written by Paul and Peter for the edification of the saints. This post is dedicated to a compilation of numerous biblical prayers compiled into one, edited into a first person POV for a smooth personal prayer experience.

Dear Heavenly Father,

(Romans 15:5-6 NKJV) I pray that the eyes of my understanding are enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, what is the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power which You worked in Christ when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. (Ephesians 1:18-23 NKJV) I pray You, (the God of patience and comfort) grant me to be like-minded toward others according to Christ Jesus, that I may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ. (Psalms 19:14 NKJV) Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. (I Peter 1:22-23 NKJV) Since I have purified my soul in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, help me love others fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. (I Peter 3:8-9 NKJV) Lord, help me and believers all over the world be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers and sisters, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that we were called to this, that we may inherit a blessing. (I Peter 5:10 NKJV) May the God of all grace, who called us to Your eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after we have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us. (Philippians 1:9-11 NKJV) Lord, I pray, that my love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that I may approve the things that are excellent, that I may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 4:8-9 NKJV) Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy— let me meditate on these things. (Psalm 25:4-5) Make me to know Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long. (Romans 12:12) Teach me to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer. (Philippians 4:6-7) With Your help, Lord, I will not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, I will let my requests be made known to You. And Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Amen.

God bless you. 🙂
