What shall one gain by offense?
Satan’s goal is to offend people through the scriptures, causing them to be mislead into focusing inward. The Lord desires that none should be subject to the oppression of inward bitterness; rather than willfully rejecting the truth, that many would fix their eyes on Jesus and make Him their Lord. A life led by Christ is to suffer no affliction of offense. This is possible through the power of peace indwelling in our souls.
The Lord has called us to be servants of peace. The anointing breaks the yolk of sin in our hearts.

Becoming offended is a choice. Satan wants believers to become isolated, bitter and angry in response to trials in our lives. At times, he may even work through people connected to us, or our circumstances. It’s easy to gravitate to the loosely covered offense by not looking beneath the veil. Though, we must remember the real enemy is often not the person, but the spirit behind the person. Only God knows the spiritual condition of people; instead of looking at the offense, look to Jesus.

Overflow with the cup of Christ and let His waters flood with love and mercy through you. His love has the power to transform every heart and mind. Forgiveness will sustain you. Offense stems from pride and is a slippery slope. In the death of your flesh, there is a new life succeeding from the ashes. Rather than dwelling on emotions, focus on others for the cause of Christ.
After all, what is your life but a vapor (James 4:14)?

All of this will pass away and eternity will be all that remains. Do not be offended, for our faith is not found here. It is found in the heart of God. View life through the eyes of eternity and everything will fall into place.
The Lord fights for His people. It is not our place to stand in the way of His protection over us. He is a God of justice and will bring into fruition the fruit of His jurisdiction in due time. Judging is for the Lord. When battling with the temptation of becoming offended by the human heart, we must remember, only God is able to judge the heart of man. Only God understands the intentions and motives in the depths of a human heart. Rather, focus that attention on praying for a course of action to aspire, in the circumstances you are unable to change through judging.
There is an appointed time for everything under the sun (Ecclesiastes 3:1) and the Lord is not slack concerning His promise (2 Peter 3:9). The Lord is a God of righteous pursuit. He diligently and patiently endures until the time of trial vindicates itself.

Knowing this truth puts into perspective the things of God and encourages us to not grow weary in doing good. The Lord is making all things right in His perfect timing, so we should not be afraid. To become easily offended is a form of control. It is to say God is not shepherding His flock the way we would like it to appear. God lives in an eternal atmosphere not limited to the perspectives of man. This world is passing away minute by minute and God is in control of it all (1 Chronicles 29:11-12). A life given by God is to be rooted in the eternal reality of Himself. A beautiful mystery of truth lies in the eternal promise of a new life coming to those who are patient in tribulation, giving heed to no pressing distraction aching to take our eyes off of Jesus. Life is too short to dwell in any state of contempt, understanding that the Word of God is willing to renew our minds daily into the hope of Christ. It is he that is transformed by the renewing of his mind, that does not mind carnal things.

Jesus pressed forward and did not get offended. He stayed focused on the Kingdom calling on His life. There is no reason to become offended, for we know the Lord supplies all of our needs according to the riches of His glory (Philippians 4:19). God is at the root of all things. There is nothing the Lord does not already hold in His hands.
Letβs Pray
Lord, please show us how to effectively overcome every trial and temptation that is forging its way into our lives. Please close every door the enemy uses and disable every button the enemy pushes to antagonize an offended response from us. Right now, we come into agreement with the power of the Holy Spirit to extinguish every fiery dart from the devil and mark them as void in Jesus mighty name. Thank you Jesus for revealing more of your resounding truth to us every day and moving us into your perfect will. Your name be glorified forever and ever, amen.
