Only sacrifice and giving can heal a greedy/selfish heart. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on Earth.
When you seek after Earthly things, you begin to encounter primarily an earthly perspective, hence leaving behind your spiritual/biblical view. If your eye is of the world so your body will be also. If your eye is of the spiritual, so your mind and body will be also. What’s carnal reaps carnal desires. What’s holy reaps holiness.
Is your eye lusting over something of this world? You will feel like your life doesn’t matter and will feel empty until that desire is fulfilled. Only God can fill your desires with craving holiness. Your eye has to want God and only Him, and everything else will follow. Nothing on this Earth is worth replacing God for. No desire can fill you, sexually nor financially. Those desires only lead to spiritual bankruptcy (if your trust is placed in these things and are acted upon in a way that dishonors God). If your life is not truly devoted to God, your mind and life will be devoted to the things of this world.
